September 22th, 2008 | Oh well...
by Carrie |

Hello everyone! Sorry again for the lack of updates... I've been sick with mononucleosis for about a month now and finally start feeling better. After lying in bed for weeks my muscles were aching terribly when I went to see the doc again last wednesday. But I hope I'll get well soon now – last week I was knocked out by heavy tonsilitis which, according to the doc, is in the final stage of the course of disease. Oh well...

Meanwhile Ann moved to Berlin so I'm all by myself during the day. How strange it was seeing her moving out, and now half of the books from the living room, kitchen stuff etc is gone. We had been living together our whole life until last week (before moving into this appartment we lived with our parents of course ;)). Now it's pretty boring... I don't like watching TV because most stuff is just so incredibly stupid (like teens changing their parents or those badly-acted soap operas). So, I'm reading a lot and try to sleep most of the time.

Yesterday the boiler broke down (again...), so now I'm sitting here waiting for the plumber to come and fix it – which by the way means I can't take a shower or wash the dishes which are by now piling up high in the kitchen. I'm loving it ;)

Thanks for your many comments! Well, my new flatmate and I didn't decide on the color for the kitchen yet but it looks like it's going to be something dark redish (of course we'll post a picture of that ;)). Ann and I are sorting out stuffs already, it's kind of strange to divide everything up among the two of us. By now we're done with books and nearly all photographs. When a couple breaks up it probably feels the same way, "Do you want this book?", "Want to keep this and that?" &ndash of course only if the war isn't on between them ;)

During sorting out our bookshelves I came across a really beautiful song which almost went straight to the garbage because the CD was hidden in old notes. To me it's a very affecting song, it reminds me very much of our Mum who lost the battle against cancer more than two years ago. She went to ballet classes as many times as possible and gained so much strength and energy out of it.

The song is called "I hope you dance" and performed by Lee Ann Womack. There's also a version by Ronan Keating but I like this one better.
